🌊💙 Making a Difference, One Piece of Litter at a Time! 💚🌊 A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing Pelican Island families who came out today to celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day! 🐚🌴 We are so proud of our students and families for giving their time, working together, and helping protect the beautiful coastal environment we are lucky to call home. 🌎✨ What a wonderful example of citizenship, community, and caring for our environment! 💙 Thank you for showing up and making a difference! 🐢🦀🌊 More pics to follow!

💙 Thank You, Pelican Island Families! 💚 A big THANK YOU to all of our parents and families who came out for Open House! We truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to visit our campus, meet with teachers, and learn more about the exciting year ahead. Your involvement and support make such a difference in our students’ success. We are so grateful to have such wonderful families as part of our Pelican Island community! 🐾📚 Here’s to a fantastic school year together! 💙💚

📚Our Classroom Buddies program pairs older students with younger students to build relationships, practice leadership, and learn from one another. 📚 Our older students get the opportunity to mentor, encourage, and lead, while our younger students gain positive role models to look up to. We love watching our students learn from one another and discover that everyone has something special to share! 🐾📖💙💚

⏰ Start the Day Strong! 📚✨ A friendly reminder to our Pelican Island families about our morning arrival times! Students may arrive on campus beginning at 7:40 AM, with free breakfast available. Instruction begins promptly at 8:10 AM. Those extra few minutes in the morning really matter! 💙 Starting the day on time allows students to settle in, get organized, enjoy breakfast if needed, and be calm, prepared, and ready to learn when instruction begins. 🌟 On time + ready to learn = a great start to a great day!

🌟 What a Busy & Exciting Day on Campus! 🌟 This afternoon , we had the pleasure of celebrating the amazing students who completed the Principal's Summer Challenge in its entirety! 📚🎉 This challenge was completely optional—they didn’t have to spend their summer working toward it. But these students chose to step up, stay committed, and get the job done! 💪👏 We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and perseverance. What a great example of setting a goal and seeing it through! 🏆 Way to go, Pelicans! We are so proud of you! 💙💚

🇺🇸 We Remember. We Honor. We Never Forget. 🇺🇸 Today, our Pelican Island Classical Magnet family came together for a moment of reflection as we remembered and honored those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. A special thank you to Officer Ratelle for leading our students and staff in this meaningful moment of reflection. We are also incredibly proud of our Safety Patrols, who helped raise our flag and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance as we saluted our flag and remembered the heroes and lives forever changed on 9/11. May we always remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity that emerged during one of our nation’s darkest days. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️💙 #NeverForget #September11 #911Remembrance #WeRemember #PelicanPride #GodBlessAmerica

🏈⚾🏀🏐 Connected for a Cause! 🏒🎾 We were so happy to see our students showing their spirit today by wearing their favorite sports jerseys! ❤️ It was a wonderful way to come together, show school spirit, and support a great cause. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make today’s Connected for a Cause event so special! 🫶

Our students have cashed in PBIS points for lunches with our staff! Working hard means getting rewarded! Our courtyard is now open for lunches for families too.

Teamwork makes the dream work! Students in Mrs. Gay and Mrs. Smilovich’s classes spent part of their recess learning how important communication is when you both have to reach one unified goal!
