Phase 2 Innovation Graphic with student in red polo and group photo of students after a Board Awards and Presentations

The School District of Indian River County is continuing its InnovatED initiative, a long term effort to align school facilities, programs, and resources with student needs.

In December 2025, the School Board approved Phase 1, including school relocations, shared campus arrangements, and attendance boundary changes that took effect July 1, 2026. Phase 2 brings forward two proposals for community input: a future home for Wabasso School with additional capacity and specialized learning spaces, and a connected arts pathway in Sebastian.

Community engagement is underway through November 16, 2026. The proposals are scheduled for School Board consideration December 2026. Learn about the approved Phase 1 actions, explore the Phase 2 proposals, and find ways to participate on the InnovatED webpage.
